Research & Development Specialist : Crops and Soil Science

Are you an agronomist with university degree, especially in crop and or soil science. Do you have 3-5 years of R&D experience and / or operations in relevant fields, and Fluent in English. The Nestlé Product Technology Center Konolfingen is looking for the Research & Development Specialist: Crops and Soil Science.

Location: Konolfingen, Switzerland

Position Summary

Our Research & Development center in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Dairy plans and develops Innovation & Renovation pipelines to support growth and profitability of our Dairy business via a consumer centric approach. It ensures scientific, technological, and manufacturing excellence through the development of the right competences.

 

As an R&D Specialist Crops and Soil Science, you will drive carbon footprint reduction projects for agricultural crop with focus on innovative crop and soil science approaches, in order to contribute to the Nestle net zero greenhouse gas emission commitment. A day in the life of a R&D Specialist Crops and Soil Science

• Propose and drive new ideas / projects / methods to R&D Nestlé Product Technology Center, Strategic Business Units and Operations
• Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends, and developments in relevant field of activity
• Integrate basic knowledge (or knowledge from other fields) in the interpretation of the results
• Lead and manage knowledge building and business-related project activities with a proactive participation
• Ensure End to End projects management that are within timelines and project costs
• Develop related tools and competencies in the domain of activity
• Participate actively in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites

 

What will make you successful?

• University degree in Crop and Soil Science
• 3 to 5 years of R&D experience and / or operations in a relevant field
• Deep understanding of sustainability / greenhouse gas aspects of dairy farming, and of agricultural soil aspects
• Strong passion and curiosity for innovation and disruptive concepts
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (including presentations)
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork spirit
• Problem solver and solution oriented
• Entrepreneurial mindset, out-of-the-box thinker
• Fluent in oral and written English is a must
• Knowledge of other language (French, German, Spanish, etc.) is a plus
