Overview of the roles of some nutrient elements in plant growth and development

In plant production around the world , it is common to provide nutrients essential for the optimum growth and development of a crop. You know, when nutrients defiency arises, it becomes impossible to maximize crop yield which ends up in a big loss for farmers. This is very simple to understand as when the cost of inputs becomes higher than the price of the output (i.e. yield). So, for ensuring that beneficial nutrients use through adequate application of fertilizers, it is important to understand the roles of specific nutrient elements used in crop production.

As shown in the following image, are some elements and how they contribute in the growth and development of the plant.
